I'd happily hand my house over to Nemesis for a week or two. If she had a party here she couldn't make it any worse than it is all ready.

Whether she'd want to come, though, is another thing entirely.

Whenever friends come to visit us, they pointedly come in their best white linens. A (not very) subtle ploy to avoid the risk of ending up with a trowel/paintbrush/shovel/etc in their hand.

We find a pressure-washer a useful tool when offering to help clean up guests who have joined in. That, and those pointed little trowel-things you scrape paint off with. Very handy.
