OK, time for another dumb question from me...
I have spent one or two (hundred) fruitful hours steaming off wallpaper in the newold house. I don't "do" decorating, so will have to pay someone to put up new wallpaper (or lining paper where we're going for painted). One decorator mentioned sealing the walls before papering....
So, question is:
1) What is "sealing" the walls - and does it affect their breathability?
2) What do they need to be sealed with?
3) What is the process - number of coats etc?
4) And finally... is this necessary, a nice idea if you've got time, completely inappropriate, delete as applicable?
I'm wondering whether this is one more job that an inexperienced and inexpert non-DIYer could do herself, before handing over to the experts...
Thank you, wonderful people!
