From now until July 21st Upfront Gallery near Penrith
http://www.up-front.com
is an exhibition centred around architecture (next week is Architecture Week).
There is a version of the SAVE 30 exhibition (charting highlights from thirty years of campaigning for threatened historic buildings) first seen at the V and A in 2005-6, sponsored by Architects Plus Carlisle, who also have an exhibition of their work (much of it connected with re-use of buildings or fitting new build into the setting of older properties).
A selection of SAVE publications is also on show, to browse, with some publications additionally for sale.
In addition SAVE has a small exhibition of artwork from supporters of SAVE, most of which is for sale to aid SAVE funds.
The artists include:
Alexander Cresswell (two paintings from his 'The Silent Houses of Britain' book, and signed copies are available of the book also)
http://www.alexandercreswell.net/portal/portal.asp
Laurence Dawson - drawings and prints of war memorials
Graham Byfield - paintings including several from his 'London Sketchbook'

Hugh Cantlie - three paintings of City Churches
http://www.london-city-churches.org.uk/

And HRH The Prince of Wales, a strong supporter of SAVE's work in saving historic buildings, has kindly loaned two of his watercolours (landscapes) for the exhibition.
I have to say my friends , who own the gallery and have been kind enough to help organise and host the exhibition, were rather staggered at the latter, which arrived beautifully packaged and bound in claret and gold ribbon.
Not sure they really believed me and thought I was pulling their leg I think until the pictures were actually delivered last week!
A lovely launch party was held on Saturday evening (thank you Upfront and Architects Plus - wonderful food, music and wandering around the gallery and grounds).
Here are a couple of pics - Adam from SAVE gave a short talk, and a view of part of the exhibition:
