I've just taken my bathroom in my Victorian terrace back to brick (It's in the upstairs section of the original double storey extension, so has a sloping roof).
One of the rafters that rest on the external wall at the bottom of the slope appears to be soft and damp in places. There were a section of bricks missing beneath said rafter and it was resting on a built up section of mortar. I have some roofers coming out to quote for parapet wall refurbishment but what are they likely to recommend for this? Can you just sister another piece of wood next to it, or would that one soon suffer a similar fate? It's the last rafter and closest to the main house if that makes sense, so it's likely that the flashing needs looking at on that side. The gutter in that corner is also extremely full of dirt.
