We are in the process of trying to get quotes to repair the clay tiled roof of our Georgian house. One of the contractors tendering has said that we should strip the whole roof and put felt down before retiling. Another contractor thinks that areas of the roof need repairing and that the rest can be left as is and has not recommended the use of felt.
Any thoughts on whether we should felt or not? The roof which is above unoccupied attic rooms appears to be in an original state (with no felt, just tiles and pins with hardboard as a "ceiling" to the attic rooms).
Thanks
