roll top bath

I have a victorian (I think) roll top bath; the interior enamel is fine, I have lightly sand-papered the outside of the bath and want to know what would be the best to paint on the outside and on the feet. I want it to be a feature without the sides being boxed in. Any ideas please?

I presume that the previous finish on the outside was paint?

If so, and if there's no rust or cracked or peeling paint evident, then once you've sanded a key on to it I should think any gloss paint would do the job.
