Can anyone give information on how to seal/ waterproof a 200 year old interior brick floor. The brick floor is in the garage which is part of my house.
The bricks are laid direct onto the subsoil. The house is grade 2 so we cannot lift the bricks and relay them with a membrane. We had an internal flood from mains water just over 3 years ago, the bricks have now dried but there are some small areas of floor were the bricks are still damp on the surface.
All the breathable sealers that I have found to date require the brick surface to be dry before application of the sealer.
