Hi everybody, I see a new series of Restoration Man returns this Sunday. Looking forward to it.

I think that this may be its first airing rather than a return.

I hope that it is better than his last series The Home Show which started off well but kept on repeating the same tricks (George doing a White-Out....George demolishing wall....George going back for more money - having already been told that this was all they had).


Over-spending due to unforeseen problems is one thing - but I can't help feeling that, with the TV cameras on him, he might have covered his arse better with a more comprehensive structural survey on each property BEFORE setting out his often unrealistic plans. My OH (the Bear) breaks out into uncontrollable swearing whenever George Clarke appears on TV, having seen one too many of these overspends....(this is deeply comical and embarrassing in equal measure :shock: ).


My particular gripe is George having to redesign a staircase to the loft at the last moment because he had forgotten to check for headroom on his original design. Sorry, but that is the sort of mistake that you employ an architect to prevent happening.


Here's hoping that he returns to better form with Restoration Man.

Aaaaargh! :evil: Some people express displeasure at the word "renovated", but I reserve my true, unreserved hatred for the word "gutted".
