We have an 18th century stone farmhouse in east Lancashire, in need of some weatherproofing! This is my first post, after moving in earlier this year, and some of the weather we have experienced so far has led me to wonder whether an old property can really be "watertight!"
We need some lime pointing doing on at least two external walls, to try to reduce the amount of water coming through, prior to doing improvements inside, and I was hoping someone might be able to suggest a competent builder to carry out the work. I am not confident that local builders would make any better a job of it than the last few decades of "improvements" and bodging that have come to light after spending a winter in the property.
I look forward to any help available from the forum, as we want any repairs to be good ones this time!!
