Hi,
Just getting start on my complete renovation of a grade 2 house and thought it best to work top down so 2 questions as I am doing my research
1. The brick chimney stack is 3 chimneys and the base plus 1 chimney is badly damaged (see pic). An option from a 'period property architect' is to take down all 3 chimneys back by brick plus the base, then build using original/smilar bricks. This sounds like a huge expense so am hoping the major bits are repairable in-situ. It looks lie th evbricks are clad in some sort of cement tiles..
Secondly I have 2 roofs with 1 being a traditional loft/rafter/tiles and the second being a single story tiled with the room below it having a circular vaulted ceiling. I can easily insulate the main roof but not sure how I would do the lower roof - am assuming it would be from the top after removing all tiles.. see roof on the left in the pic below.
