Sorry but depsite the title, this is wildly off-topic. However, I'm sure that within PPUK's collective "traditional" wisdom, someone will know the answer.
I'm about to turn some of this year's surfeit of damsons in to wine. This is a new undertaking for us (except for a very dubious attempt at homebrew as a student ). The recipes I have looked at suggest removing the stones first. Do I really need to de-stone twenty tons of damsons? What happens if I don't?
Also, we're making jam and chutney. Any other good ideas for our damson mountain?
If anyone would like some stones to grow, I have plenty from delicious and very productive trees. Just PM me your address and I'll post some to you.
