Removing scratches from glass?

My labourer, well she's much more capable than, that has repainted my windows (very well I might add). However she was a little careless in areas when rubbing down the woodwork and has scratched the glass. Fortunately she was using a very fine sandpaper so it's not horrendus but definitely noticeable.

Does anyone know of a reliable way of removing fine scratches from glass?

Halfords (the car people) sell some stuff in a bottle which works well with removng small scratches. It's meant for car windscreens, but works well with other sorts of glass. It needs a fair bit of elbow grease, bu does the trick with the normal wear and tear. For deeper scratches you'd need to use a very fine carborundum paste, but for the sort of scratches you describe, try the Halford stuff as a line of first resort.

I think non-gel toothpaste can be tried too but again - a great deal of hard rubbing required.
