Removing old window-lock

Does anyone recognise this type of window-lock? We need to remove it and replace with a new one because the operating-key for it has been bent out of shape. However, we can't work out how to do it.
It was fitted onto the window by the previous owner, before we bought the house, so it has been there at least 30+ years. The photo is a bit fuzzy, but it shows the barrel-shaped part attached to the central section of the window; we have loosened it but can't work out how it was fixed on in the first place. The pointy bit that faces downward is the part that screws into the casement window-frame; you can see the hole just behind it.
The second photo shows the tool that unscrews it all (it's actually for another window but I photo'd this one because it is not bent).
I realise that the answer might be useful for burglars but if we can't get it off we may have to damage the window to do so...I'm afraid we're rather ignorant about window-locks in general, having never fitted any.

We have something similar on some of our sashes. Except the 'barrel' goes through the top rail of the bottom sash and into the bottom rail of the top sash. Ours has no key, it simply screws into a thread in the top sash, thus locking them. You might have to consider removing the lock altogether and replacing it.

Removing the actual lock is the issue; we can't see how to physically do it because the "barrel" part, that you see in the top photo, is attached to the wood but we can't see how it's been done...there are no screwheads showing. A brutal hacksaw may be the only answer. However, I think Lady A has helped identify the make...a Rola. The keys look identical in design although I doubt if their new ones will fit our old lock. I've got their website from the pdf catalogue details so I'll give em a go.

Perhaps the whole assemble unscrews?
Open the window and unscrew/turn the body of lock out of the window frame.. it appears that there is a separate (screw?) fixing in the wood under the lock.

The key has a flattened oval end? They were also used by Ingersoll on other types of window lock. A good locksmith might have one, or even a replacement lock.

A brutal hacksaw may be the only answer

The words "brutal" and "hacksaw" don't necessarily belong together. It looks as though the body of the lock is quite loose on its mounting. If you want to slide a hacksaw blade behind it, in order to cut through a screw, here's my favourite method.

Get yourself a good quality "junior" hacksaw blade and break off the end* to get rid of the little crossbar that holds the blade into the saw frame. Now wrap the other end in sticky tape - masking, insulating, whatever, to make it safe and comfortable to hold. You've now made yourself, in effect, a mini-padsaw. You should be able to sneak it between the lock and the window-frame and gently cut your way through the screw. Put a drop of oil on the blade every now and then. Don't force the cut - hacksaw blades are brittle and can snap easily.
It'll take patience, but you should be able to do it.

* With a flimsy, unsupported blade like this it's best to have the teeth cutting on the pull stroke - ie: teeth facing backwards towards your hand. Make sure you break off the correct end.

Thanks for that hacksaw blade advice. It worked ok and the lock has now been zizzed off. Still couldnt work out how it had been fitted on, but we found a little metal plate underneath it as well. Anyway, we managed to file that flat; window now is lockable again, or I should say openable for the first time in some years.
