removing lead stains from roof lights

With my scaffolding due to come down soon I want to clean the roof lights on my lean-to side extension. They have while streaks on them which I believe are caused by run off from the lead flashings. Lime scale remover does nothing, nor does vigorous rubbing with a cloth. I have read somewhere that Brasso can be used. Has anyone succeeded in solving this problem?

I've just tried it (in a half lying, half hanging upside down position from a scaffolding plank). It seems to work!

If this is my last post, it's probably because I've fallen through and broken my neck.

I presume you know that patination oil prevents new lead from staining?
I bought a 5ltr tin for about £10 from the lead suppliers, the roofer used a thimble full but as I had no use for it I gave it to him. There are no lead stains on my vinery so I'm assuming it works

I used patination oil on our new leadwork and have had no problem with staining/streaking. The instructions say it should be applied before the end of the day it's installed before the lead carbonate has a chance to form.
