Hi All,
Does anyone have experience of removing paint from a roughcast render? With several layers of paint, the render on our house now looks very 'flat'. I will be re-rendering some sections and prefer to match the finer definition old and new.
I'd like to take the finish back to underlying concrete/pebble substrate before repainting. The goal is to get achieve a finer definition on the painted render and to ensure a good key for the mineral paint.
The current coating has layers of lime wash and final layer of modern 'weather shield' paint (see photo). Some of it is peeling off. But, other areas are bonded very tightly (see photo).
Someone mentioned use of a needle scaler. But, this seems too aggressive.
Recommendations would be gratefully received.
Regards,
Paul
