Recommendations for breathable loft insulation

I assume a few of you have insulated your loft spaces with wool or another eco, breathable product. Any recommendations for products or suppliers? Bare in mind that we are working on a shoestring budget for the time being.

I've used wool which is lovely to work with and reassuringly expensive...

If you've got joist space to fill then loose cellulose could be a less painful option https://www.naturalinsulations.co.uk/product/thermofloc/ - not tried it, but specs look good

I have tried Warmcell, in 3 or 4 buildings. It works brilliantly. None of these "green" insulants are as thermally efficient as good old mineral wool ("fibreglass") which is a much better product than it was. The less space you've got, the more likely you'll have to use a modern product to achieve the necessary U values. I want to try aerogel one day soon. http://www.thermablok.co.uk/

I've used thermofloc for the the triangular bits of the coombed (sloping) ceiling where front and side gables meet. Nothing much to report really, pour it in and job done. Wish I could do the same with the rest of the coombed ceilings but they are mainly open at the bottom.

Agree could be useful for between the joists, particularly if your joist spacing isn't amenable to standard widths of blanket. Loose fill to the top of the joists and then go the other way with blankets or even solid wood fibre sheets if you want to use the loft for storage. Preferably relocate electrical cables so that they are clear of the insulation otherwise you may need to derate.

Elsewhere have mostly used natural wool blankets. Gorgeous stuff especially compared to the ancient yellow rockwool that I took out. Seems to cope well with being in contact with moisture where I've used it under the floor. Tbh budgetary constraints mean I will probably have to go with something else once my current stock is used up. Reports of moth infestations feeding off the wool slightly concerning but the climate around Fernicarry greatly reduces that risk...
