When old clay tiles on top of limecrete are removed and floor is uneven is there a special floor leveler that can be used to even the floors out that is lime based and is there a P.V.A. type of special adhesive to prime the floors.
Wet the surface first to kill the suctions and, if you're laying a screed or a bed for tiles, brush over the surface with a weak limewash just before you add the screed/bed. Don't use any other bonding agent or you'll negate one of the main functions of the limecrete floor.
Any doubts, give Tom Brooks at ring at Ty Mawr on 01874 658249.
better to use 'limewater' - the water on top of unstirred limewash in tubs - limewash proper would provide a layer less likely able to allow subsequent adhesion.
