Gervase,
well done on the restoration.
During the show they showed about a five second clip of what appeared to be a repair of a window cill.

It was very brief. Can you expand on what was done and how?

We didn't repair any cills as such, as all the windows were made from scratch to replace completely the aluminium ones that were in place when we bought the house.
What we did do, though, was re-bed the large slate cills where there was evidence of movement; running strops around them, taking up the strain with a double block and tackle (they're hellish heavy) to slide them out and lifting them by about a foot to lay a bed of lime mortar levelled with odds and sods of slate and rubble.
