Every time the window cleaner comes, he rests his ladder against the (plastic) gutter to clean the bedroom dormer window. Every time, it pushes the gutter out of the joint with the next run of gutter, so that the next rain brings a cascade outside the kitchen window.
I then have the choice of getting out my own ladder to fix it (getting soaked in the process), or leaving it with the attendant noise and splash until the rain stops.
Given that plan A (ask him NOT to lean the ladder against the gutter) doesn't permeate from ears to skull, does anyone know of a device that can be fitted outboard of the gutter to receive the ladder? I suppose I could fabricate something akin to an outdoor curtain pole, but I thought I'd ask first.
Yes, the placcy gutters were there when we bought the house Yes, we did contemplate metal ones but the "presumption" is not to change anything without good reason: there weren't any gutters at all till 1948 - the house was thatched.
