We live in a mill worker's cottage in a model village in Bolton, built in 1830. My 'first' question is what style internal doors would have originally been in the house?
We are renovating and I want to start putting some original features back in.
Well, I live further south in a house of almost the same age (c.1850). In the "nice" bits of the house there were some standard four recessed panel doors (larger rectangles at the top), and these also had some moulding around the recesses in the really nice parts of the house (hall and lounge). However, in the back there were a couple of T&G ledged and braced doors which are more rustic.
