Are fires (of any description) allowed in bedrooms these days?
Presuambaly an existing fireplace could be used, but would a wood stove installation be certified?

If I am asleep under a throw rug* with my head on a scatter cushion* on a sofa in a living room I'm not any less vulnerable than if I am tucked up under a duvet with my teddy bear. It's also not beyond the imagination to move a bed from one place to another, or is this another thing for which some formal consent is required? Before we know it aerobeds will be a restriced Class 1 product in a bid to stamp out wanton kipping in non designated areas.

All good points, Milady, but reasoned logic and common sense have no place when trying to understand such regulations.

Just make sure you install a carbon monoxide detector first....Flyfisher said:dans said:If I want a fire in my bedroom that has clearly been there for a lot of years... then I shall have a fire in my bedroom!
That's the spirit!!

I can't imagine life without an open fire in the bedroom! Pile it high on a Saturday night and it burns softly all night and doesn't take much to get it going on Sunday morning, then you can have the magical combination of electric blanket, coffee, croissants, fire - crumbs in the bed the only downside!
