Posting pictures

I've followed all the instructions and I've tried reducing the size of my picture in terms of KiBs and in terms of the width in pixies and when I get it small enough to load up on the "test me" site it looks like a painting by numbers canvas. Perhaps the test site is only to give a guide and the live posting will be different....only one way to find out!

It's supposed to be the required picture of our house, 850 pixels wide.
And if still looks like blocks of colour, perhaps someone can explain what I'm doing wrong!

Hi Keith,

The only thing you have done wrong is reduce the quality (and file size) of the picture too much. Your file is 24kB is size - something like 100kB to 300kB would be better. If you increase the quality setting when you save a bit (but not to maximum) this should achieve the right result.

The number of pixels is perfect for here.

The other way to do pics is to go to Photobucket's website, open your free account, and click their upload button to get your pics onto their website. Then, under each image of yours that you've uploaded, there is an image code. You just need to click "copy" on that, and paste it here - the size is automatically OK.
