Some of the original 'plaster' in our house seems to be nothing more than a thin skim of lime putty smeared across the bricks.
I've had a go at replicating this by doing a smear of lime putty on top of some plastering I've done.
On the whole I'm quite pleased, its given me a nice fine surface, almost like marble. But my technique is obviously crap because I cant avoid small blemishes (never been an issue on the other stuff ive done where I've been happy with a fine textured surface and limewash over).
How should I go about polishing this? keep trying with a steel trowel ? bit of net curtain/muslin? wax or oil over it?
tbh this is really playing, but I have in the back of my mind Venetian plastering and plans for the shower.
