Pointing the door frame

I need some help with the recipie for lime mortar to go around a new door frame. I've refused all damp courses, foam and other icky things and intend to point out the tiny joint between the frame and the wall. I thought Hydraulic might be the way to go as it will get some water in heavy rain when gutters are overwhelmed. Whatever I use has to be soft and not overly wet. I thought maybe 3.5 mixed 1 to 1 might make it softer and help with any water problems. We're putting a drain pipe outside to help take the water away. So idea's for what mix to point out narrow spaces and deal with some weather would be very helpful.

If it's a really tiny joint you might be better off with burnt sand mastic rather than lime mortar. It sticks to the wood better and remains slightly flexible so is less liable to crack.

Because the wooden frame will expand/contract with humidity, there will always be a hair line crack. Around here they use a fillet to try to stop rain running into the crack.
I would use some clear "icky stuff" providing it is of the silicone type. N.B. use masking tape on the wood otherwise paint might not take to it.

Anyway - will that be the best for around my windows too? (Outside)? Some of them were done by the Ventrolla men but some still need a bit of doing.

((A warning about getting windows done, by the way. After 25 years of not getting them open, I keep going out and leaving them w-i-d-e open.))
