This is no doubt a silly question, but a quick google search reveals nothing...
There's no problem with applying lime plaster over limewashed stonework, is there?
Some of the walls in our house are so damp that they're going to take a lot longer to dry out than we anticipated. Our current plan is to re-point (old mortar has turned to dust) and limewash (might keep the house from getting too dusty? At the very least it'll make the interior brighter) and leave them alone until next spring. My instinct tells me that it should be absolutely fine to apply lime plaster on top of limewash, but it's best to be certain about these things!
