Plasterboard, vs. Acoustic Plasterboard vs. Insulation

Hi all,

I have a modern built room in my flat, and will need to use plasterboard.
One very simple question:
Do you know the relative price difference between:
A. Plasterboard with rigid insulation already bonded to it, vs. the cost of regular plasterboard?
B. Acoustic plasterboard vs. the cost of regular plasterboard?

I'm just trying to figure out whether insulated plasterboard is say, 20% more than regular plasterboard and the % more for acoustic over regular plasterboard.

Insulated plasterboard depends on how thick the insulation is. It's not cheap - £35-£50 per 8' x 4' sheet generally.

Ordinary plasterboard is a lot cheaper, £6-£8 per 8' x 4' sheet depending on exactly what you go for. Acoustic is more like £14-£15 per sheet.

Where do you want to use this? If it's for a ceiling bear in mind you may well need to put up 2 layers with overlapping joints, for fire protection in a flat conversion. Same might apply if it's for a stud wall bordering onto another flat or communal area, not sure.

For accoustic plasterboard, the builder suggests putting this (2 layers, overlapped as you suggest) for the ceiling, though held in place by resilient bars. He also wants to do the acoustic plasterboard with resilient bars for an internal stud wall that borders a communal space.

Then, for a modern built room, with external walls, he suggested using the plasterboard with rigid insulation, which he glues against the brick wall.
