I live in a property that was built in 1797. I have lived here 10 years. Next door is a public house built at a similar time. A brick planter was built in our garden against the pub wall about 20 or more years ago. The new owners of the pub have found they have damp on the wall that our planter is up against. They want us to remove the planter and for us to pay for it. Do you know where the law stands on this as though I don't want to lose my planter, I appreciate their predicament and agree it should never have been built in the first place, but don't think I should be responsible for the cost especially due to the amount of time the planter has been there.
