Is anyone using Pinterest? This site allows you to create an online scrapbook which looks like it might be very useful for collecting images found on the net. I have just set up an account myself.

I use it all the time - it's fantastic for teachers, stuffed full of all sorts of ideas to keeps kids busy. Like all things though, sometimes you have to wade through the dross to find what you really need.

Apologies for bringing all the enthusiasm of Tony Hancock to the topic, but I've been doing that for years - on my own PC. Why would I wish to store it all in some anonymous data centre somewhere in the world and make myself completely dependent on the internet to access it all?

Am I missing something here?

Exactly. Just as hard drives have become cheap as chips for more capacity that most people will ever need, the industry conspires to foist this cloud nonsense on everyone so we have to pay inflated data costs just to access our own stuff. They're like drug barons handing out free samples to get us all hooked before increasing the costs!
