Pine floorboards

We have 'new' pine floorboards made from old pine. They need sealing/treating so they can withstand wear and tear but not look orange! We know its softwood but needed to match pre-existing floors. Any advice gratefully received.

I had exactly the same (new T&G made from old joists) and treated them with OSMO Polyx.
That was about 10 years ago in a family bathroom, and whilst I can't claim that the floor still looks like new, it has survived well over that time.

One hears contrary views of Polyox. Some says it needs a lot of maintenance. Perhaps not if the floor was properly prepared first and the occupants take care of their footwear.

We used Polyox on the oak boards in our library. It took forever to dry, and after the Polyox was put on, the pre-stain turned out to be too dark.
Do a test area before you commit to the whole floor.
Can't comment regarding durability as we sold the house soon thereafter.

Toby's posts in those links are usually the most informed posts here.

When I did the floors in our last house, I used Bonakemi Mega. It lasted the 9 years we were there with lots of foot traffic etc, very well. I would probably use it again for floors.
