A curious tale, indeed, Lime.
I was hoping somebody would shed light on the window. It's medieval glass but I'd be interested to know just how it got into it's present condition. There is a book: Kathleen Major, A SHORT ACCOUNT OF THE CHUCH OF ST. MARY MAGDALEN GEDNEY with Appendix on The Early Glass by Christopher Woodforde, but I've only tracked down one copy, on ABEBooks, and its nine quid for only 24 pages, of which I only want the appendix.

Yes, but all Peter Fairweather says is
The leaflet in the church doesn't go much further, saying that the medieval glass was damaged in the civil war and the second world war. But just when someone swept up bits and put them together in a different order is unclear.Some large remaining parts of a Jesse window are in the North aisle East window and many smaller pieces in various other windows.
