why is it when I look at a posting that refers to photographs, they are not visible to me? The text simply returns to the next line of text; not even a photo sized empty space ......................... :?:

Andrew - where are you trying to view the posts?. For example, I can pick up the pictures on my iPhone and home PC, but my work PC blocks most of the pictures which is frustrating. Not sure what, if anything, I can do at work to change that.

it has to be my work p.c playing s.b's from time to time................... mystery solved. Thanks all. 
The first image in that post is at http://i84.photobucket.com which may be blocked by your firewall or by your browser for cross site linking.
Cross site linking is when the web domain of the main page doesn't match the domain of an image e.g the page is at www.periodproperty.co.uk but the image is at i84.photobucket.com
In some circumstances with scripting it's possible to syphon off information from one domain into another you have no idea is there, but in my experience it's more likely your internet access has blocked photobucket.com so you can't spend you working day looking at holiday snaps and pictures of kittens
I would imagine attached images should still work but lots of people use photobucket as you can link to higher quality images.
