Anyone got any recommendations for a great on-line wine merchant who can sell me a dozen or so bottles of high quality vintage wine, without sending me rubbish at ridiculous prices?

Many French vinyards will now supply their wine direct to the consumer by mail order. I've no idea what the haulage costs would be from France, but perhaps it might be worth trawling the websites of a few chateaux that you fancy.

If you want to PM me some details of your preferred types of wine and some budgetary guidance, my son's father-in-law lives in Burgundy and is pretty clued-up on local wines - I could ask him for some suggestions, if you like.

I'm afraid I don't know any decent chateaux to try!! A good idea if some can give me some hints!! It's a wedding present for my brother, he enjoys fine wine so I need to buy something very nice......

This stuff is a little different from most wines but it does get served in pint glasses which can't be bad...
