Since we have an outlet for our grumps, I thought I would go for the other thing...
It rained and it blew, worthy of Noah, and the water butts filled overnight (having been empty). The electronic thingy on the side of the workshop radioed the study to report 47mm of rain in the previous 24 hours.
And NO WET came through the dining room wall. This is the first time on a wet and southwesterly-windy night we haven't had to get out the towels and buckets. Lots of rain on a lime rendered south gable end wall, assisted by strong wind, hitherto meant a demonstration of the concept of permeability (and a very wet dining room floor). Kelvyn's efforts with lead in carefully worked-out places seems to have succeeded. My addition of a judiciously placed oak board under the main window (where the gap was), filled in with lime, fixed the little leak at the corner.
Gaudium magnum!
