My favourite textile company is having a lovely sale

Of all the companies out there, this one has the most period inspired designs to my eye: the toiles, damasks and moires are to die for.

I'll be going on the Thursday - anyone care to join?

Grooooan, isn't that just typical! Why do these fantastic sales come up just when I have had to spend £400 on my car--new tyre, full service, MOT, tracking and rear light bulbs. I'd have loved to join you Joce. Have fun!

You too? My car was in for MOT test today and it failed because both front springs were broken. Physically broken! Goodness knows when it happened. I did a 250 mile round trip to Nottingham at the weekend and nothing seemed wrong at all. The MOT test chappie told me it's not particularly unusual and he sees lots of broken springs, though I can't remember ever having such an incident. Oh well, there goes another £600. :shock:

But I digress and mustn't spoil Joce's shopping spree tomorrow - have fun!

Oh, seems like the season for it. Betsy needed £132 spent on her to get through last week - brake cables and a passenger side door that only opens when it feels like it. But I feel quite lucky looking at the prices others have had to pay.

I need to get some fabric to cover a manky little sofa, so I shall definitely be going on pilgrimage to Acton. As will my bestest, oldest friend who's doing up her breakfast room and getting to the stage when she's going to have to tackle what I believe is known as 'window treatment'.
I'll see if Thursday is convenient for her too.

Wish I could come, but that's the day His Lordship arrives from Singapore first thing in the morning and I don't think after 13 hours in a plane and a drive from LHR he would be overjoyed for me to say we were going fabric shopping :lol:

Chris has had a bit of a fit at my insistence on going to this sale, fair enough as I know his approach of one thing at a time works best. But this is such a chance to get the goods for my long long list - music room Roman blind fabric in ivory moire with green trim, rust-coloured moire for back of cabinet, black and gold velvet to make a throw to stop Horry and Ems destroying the yellow silk chaise, toile for the downstairs lamps, something robust to recover the dining room chairs, and maybe even the 40 metres that will be needed for the Belvedere curtainry! Wonder what parking is like in West Acton for a dirty great Landrover?

According to their website, they have their own car-park. I suppose that, like auction houses, they have to accommodate customers who will be carting way some pretty weighty/bulky purchases!

BTW Joce, if Chris likes to see each project finished before starting another (nothing wrong with that) I suggest that when you have made your sale purchases, fold the fabrics neatly and put them just out of sight. That way you wont do what I do, and abandon everything else to get stitching gorgeous with silks, velvets, linens instead of painting and plastering etc.!!!!!
