I've been let down again. The job was worth about £5000. After sorting out particulars, I got a quote which I was happy with except it included something we had decided verbally that I would do before they started. I asked for it to be amended but the builder cut all communication. What is going wrong??? Are the jobs I want doing just too small for builders to be bothered with if they get a better job, or is it because I could be a fussy customer?

How did you ask for it to be amended, or rather what was it to be amended to?
Them doing it?
Did you say you'd pay?

Poor you! I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, I think disappearing is just what they do if a better offer comes along - especially in a big city like Birmingham where there will be all sorts of long running contracts.

It's maddening though.
