Not the best place for a birdbox though - very exposed. The guidance I read on where to site them indicated that ideally they should be out of direct, prolonged sun.

I also feel that the local moggy will be getting rather fat. Too easy pickings.

A novel idea, but my experience of pantile roofs suggests that there is plenty of room between the tiles for birds to find their way in without resorting to such things. Our annually returning swifts certainly think so.
