It's an escape route for the spiders.

That's an incredible picture - not only are the walls covered, but most of the windows too! Is the building inhabited?

Oh, Silly me--I thought I recognised it. Witney is one of my childhood haunts. I have some original Witney Blankets still in their wrapping from my Grandmother's linen room.

I worked in Witney for 13 years, so I ought to have recognised it too. But I'm still not quite sure where it is. is it in Corn Street?

The house is in West End, Witney and is actually of historic value as it was built by the Early's who manufactured the lovely Witney blankets. The house is inhabited but I guess they just haven't got round to the annual pruning! It's the talk of the street - everyone's waiting for the downstairs windows to be completely covered too... In terms of the pipe on the roof, I'm not sure what it is - could it be angled vent/soil pipe for a bathroom?! It's a huge house with a massive garden for such an urban spot.

The house is in West End, Witney

Of course it is! In fact, I now remember it. My favourite little tile shop used to be in West End up towards the mini-roundabout at the Crawley Road end. West End is beautiful.
