Did anyone else see The Mitchell and Webb Show last night and notice the sketch about a Penneresque company chairman?

I've always felt that I was actually born to be Chairman of a large company - a merchant bank perhaps. Something just went wrong with the plan at implementation stage.

Unfortunately, I've found this thread seconds before I have to dash out to Camera Club, and we're out all day tomorrow.

I shall, however, try and remember to watch Mitchell & Webb on the iPlayer on Friday. If it comes with Moo's endorsement, I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Ah, a generous dollop of flattery always goes down a treat.

The show as a whole was a bit of a curate's egg, but that particular sketch rang so many pennerian bells that I just had to draw attention to it.

I caught the second half of the show (one of the downsides of Sky+ is that you always seem to finish a "paused" programme part way through the other schedules).

I thought it was a complete dog. Very little merit. However, the pedant was funny. The gun made me think more of Yamin though!

I do apologise, Moo. I've only just had an opportunity to watch the show on the BBC iPlayer.

I enjoyed the sketch very much, but I was very disappointed that such linguistic howlers only earned sudden, merciful death for their perpetrators. I would have devised a slower, more painful demise for them.
