Party wall work

Last night I met the future owner of the end terrace next to mine, he said he had a survey (groan) that had picked up damp in the party wall of our houses, we had had quite a serious flood last month from a burst underground water pipe that had flooded mine and the other nextdoor neighbours cellar (future purchasers does not have cellar)which I think many be the problem. He mentioned that he has one of these damp guarantee and he is looking to action it to get it fixed, my worry is that the so called expert will come in and spray and inject the party wall (I think the wall is a timber lath and plaster wall with no brick or block) with all sorts of sparys and chemicals etc. Where do I stand on this? as I understand it they should let me know and ask for party wall aggrements etc is this true?

He should ask for permission to do the work, but if he has a guarantee surely the work has already been done, ie the injecting, or what is his guarantee for?

I think there was some work done by a damp proofing co about 5 years ago on the entire house with some chemical treatment at the ground level, as i understand he has had some moisture readings taken on the wall and as the entire cottage has had a conc slab poured the moisture has been pushed up the walls. He does not sound to knowledgeable on such matters and is just trying to get a price reduction but I just hope they dont just come in and start injecting more junk into the wall (is this even possible with a timber framed house?)
