We have purchased an 1850's old village school with 3 pamment floors that the surveyor has indicated are damp.
I have found that they are laid on sand with no damp proof membrane undernerath.
The question is how do I relay them. I have assumed that I dig out then fill with ballast then sand then dp membrane the insulation, but how do I relay the pamments? to I cement them down?
The other worry is the bottom of the internal walls are also damp and wonder how to resolve that also I am not sure I want to trust the opinion of someody who is comng round to price the job up.
Thanks in advance for any help
