painting the rear of my house

I painted the front of my Edwardian Terrace with the help of my father last year and its a good job.I'm just about to tackle the rear of the house 3 sashes, I french door with light above and a fairly narrow bay off the breakfast room.First question I want to have a different coulour scheme the front is green and white and not exactly what I wanted so any suggestions thinking green and cream .I also want to ( thinking about )contrasting the putty around the glass on the bay and the french door , the original colour was a sort of brilliant green .... just want to get it right and then maybe change the front , my dad was a great help he was a decorator by trade but its like a busmans holiday for him .....I spend a ,lot of time in my garden and don't want to be disapointed

Ps I reinstalled my outside loo too and it looks great

I think colour schemes are one area I'd think twice about before aping Victorian fashions. I think colour choices depend so much on the property, its really impossible to say what would work. But I can safely say a green exterior wont work with all houses

If you're planning to paint the glazing putty a different colour from the rest of the woodwork, may I enquire whether you're finding it difficult to fill your time?

Do you really enjoy creating maintenace work to fill your time ?.

Keep it simple and neat, sit back with a glass of something and admire what you have quickly finished. It may even loock better.
