Hi All,
So, I need to remove old paint from windows, fascia boards etc. Clearly, there will be lead in it, so need to be cautious.
The Speedheater Infra Red Lamp is claimed to be safe for lead. But, shocked that the UK distributor wants £500.

Paint melts about 200 degrees. Lead at 1000 degrees. Seems the Speedheater heats paint to about 200 degrees. But, this is acknowledged to be dependent on time.
So, I'm left wondering if I use my cheap heat gun at a low setting, and carefully, it will do the same "safe" job?
Regards,
Paul
