Just spotted a pair of hall chairs that will be up for auction and thought of Mr Watts.

Interesting that those are described as "recent manufacture", and among the keywords they've included "late 18th century"!

If late 18th century is recent, then I'm a babe* in arms!

*In this context, this word should not be taken to mean "attractive young lady" - which would incorrect on three counts.

Your link to BADA had me wondering - being unaware of the British Antique Dealers Association, I couldn't work out why the Borreliosis and Associated Diseases Awareness people were selling chairs! (Turns out they are actually BADA-UK.org, presumably because the antique dealers got there first!)

Acronyms can be dangerous things. An army friend was talking about DPM one day and how new better types had come out. I did wonder what the Army wanted with Damp Proof Membrane, turns out it means Disruptive Pattern Material, that's camouflage to you & I.

Clearly having a big blue plastic sheet draped over you is not as effective when you want to avoid being spotted.
