...what does "Views" refer to?

On the index page for this forum, there are several columns, headed Topics, Replies, Views and Last Post . These are all self-evident (provided you're not a bugle player), except that - in my ignorance - I've never been able to fathom what Views refers to.

Please explain, preferably using very simple words....

Surely it means how many times a post has been viewed!

who had `viewed` the post.

Rob - yes you do. Look at the index page where all the various threads are listed. Got there? Right, now look at the column headings printed in white against a dark green bar...

Exactly! - it could be quite a depressing column if you post a question only to see that no one is reading it, or worse still loads of people read it but no one wants to respond! Of course the trick is to title it Kit-Kats or equivalent.
BTW Penners, I was baffled for 2 weeks when I first joined this forum, by seeing OT in titles as I though it stood for Old Testament....only recently did I twig. That's acronyms for you. Do you remember when WWF was fluffy?
