Original Bedroom Fireplace - Suppliers?

We are getting to a stage in our renovation when we now require an original bedroom fireplace.

We have searched for suppliers yet are stuggling to find any in the Midlands area?

Can anyone help please?, or would you suggest we just need to hit the reclaimation yards?

These guys have loads but they are quite pricey. There are quite a few other sites on the internet.

You could also consider a reproduction, there are lots of companies and they mostly make fireplaces from original patterns. My personal opinion is that Ballard & Bailey (see their website) ones are a superior quality and the cheapest supplier I have found is http://www.bestpricefires.co.uk

Yes, but be sure that the yard you buy from subscribes to the Salvo code

You might want to check out the "Grate Revival" on the Warwick Road in Acocks Green (near Birmingham).
They do a mixture of refurbished original stuff (we got an original 1894 bedroom fireplace to match our 1894 house) and reproductions.
