Someone has run out of money if the new extension and blockwork is anything to go by. There may be some undoing work needed first.
They will be wanting far more than it is worth to get back what they have spent.
Interesting Energy Efficiency Rating. It's currently at the worst level, but apparently in the opinion of the inspector it has no potential for improvement. :?
sorry to revive an old thread but ive been looking through old threads due to being home alone and bored,
this house is still for sale and i almost bought it, or it was a few weeks ago however for anyone thinking about buying it the owner has or is in the process of getting planning permission to build a house in this cottages back garden.
the last i heard he was still debating how much land the listed cottage legally needed so he could cream off as much land as possible for his new build.
so , not only has he almost if not totally destroyed the cottages interior , he also wants to build a new house in its back garden leaving it with very little , if any outside space.
This story gets worse and worse... to steal the garden space to build your own house is a terrible thing to do IMHO (unless you have acres and acres), we were put off by several that were doing just this last year. Plus how off-putting to have the previous owner a few hundred yards away!
We looked at a fairly nice if rather magnolia and beige 1920's house when we last moved.
We noticed the new build next door, but it seemed that planning had prevented them from adding any overlooking windows and the houses were at right angles with separate access.
The owner showing us round said "Of course we'll be moving into the new house next door, my daughter thinks I shouldn't tell people that on the first viewing"...well her daughter was right as it put us right off immediately.
