I currently have a very basic open fire w/back boiler in my small terrace cottage. I was planning to replace it with a multifuel stove w/boiler but now I'm wondering...
On the Hetas website, in their Official Guide, they give efficiency ratings for good quality open fires (Dunsley Enterprise, for example) at 65-75%, as good as for multifuel stoves. Can this be true? I'd always heard that open fires were only up to 30% efficient, even the better ones.
Does anyone have experience or information to support or refute this?
