One Small Bedroom’s Worth of Cement Render

I reclaimed another full room from the cement demons over the past 3 days.

They set a new house-wide record for solid cement thickness with this one… 5 inches. Pricks.

Found an old fireplace as expected.

Only 4 more walls spread across 2 rooms and a stairwell until this place is finally 100% freed from this scourge. Oh and the entire solid cement ground floor…

I’ve now roughly repointed it over the past few days, with some small areas of minor rebuilding near the wall / ceiling junctions. And a bodge of spray foam in a couple voids that had nothing behind to support plaster.

Ready for the first coat of insulating lime plaster. After 3 years our bedroom will finally not be such a cold, humid, musty mess!
