old concrete home

I'm new to the site.

my parner has just taken over her mothers home.

lots to do with the home, she told me that they cant do wall cavity. due to it being concrete flooring and outside of the house has render allround and looks scuffy when it rain's.
is it possible to put somekind of air bricks in. as i cant see any bricks with the render.

you can smell dam, im going to treat the floors, but im worried about the damp coming throught the walls

Any informtion would be a great help.

Does it have a DPC as far as you can tell? What age is it? DPCs became widespread around the turn of the previous century... I don't know that air bricks will necessarily help, they are usually meant to provide ventilation to the area underneath a suspended wooden floor and you say this is a concrete floor.. but then you say you're going to treat the floor so is it wood? I'm not sure we have enough information here to make any sort of a diagnosis.

Thanks for getting back to me.

As far as I can see it it doesn’t have DPC and the floors are concrete.

Also been told that they have attempted put wall cavity in but unsuccessful I’ve seen the past attempts through the outside render where they patched it up. I can’t see any bricks due to the house covered in render. Also the render is scruffy when it rains.


What could I do to help with the damp, apart from treating the floors.

Is it possible to put any kind of air bricks or vent.

Was going to use dry-base liquid or epoxy. To stop the damp from the concrete floor
