Hi again,
As I am having a stud wall put in next week my carpenter has asked me what kind of door frame i am thinking of. He mentioned either solid or a cover and some kind of overlap so you don't get a crack where the wood joins the lime plaster on the wall.
Now, i've got a picture in my head of an oak frame, quite solid looking but not too bulky, no fancy moldings, just nice oak showing the grain and a few knots etc. Something that looks strong, solid, alive. Am I just crazy or has anyone got any pictures or thoughts on how I should ask for my door frame to be built. The frame will house a 3 ledged oak cottage door with latch.
Thanks for any input on this.
